Reverse description Three lines of bold Latin text — S P Q R / OB / CIV SER — inscribed within the field and enclosed by a corona civica (civic oak-wreath), the traditional Roman honor awarded for saving the lives of citizens. The wreath is rendered in fine relief with individual leaves and berries clearly articulated around the entire circumference of the design, tied at the base. The composition is deliberately austere, conveying republican virtue and Galba's propagandistic claim as a restorer of Roman liberties.
