| Obverse description | Bare-headed, laureate bust of Emperor Galba facing right, depicted with the characteristic aged and heavily jowled physiognomy associated with his portraiture. The effigy is rendered in a bold, high-relief style typical of early Flavian-era imperial coinage. A laurel wreath crowns the head, and the truncation of the neck is cleanly cut. The encircling legend runs from lower left to upper right around the periphery of the flan, executed in well-spaced Latin capitals within a beaded border. |

| Reverse description | Roma personified stands facing left, helmeted and attired in full military dress. In her extended right hand she holds a small figure of Victory standing upon a globe, while her left hand grasps an upright spear. The composition is set within a plain field, with the abbreviated legend ROMA appearing in the upper portion and the senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) flanking the central figure in the field. The reverse is executed in the characteristic bold, slightly provincial style of the Rome mint under Galba. |
