| Obverse lettering | SER GALBA IMP CAES AVG (Translation: Servius Galba, Imperator, Caesar, Augustus.) |
| Reverse description | The personification of Roma seated left on a cuirass, helmeted and draped, holding a small Victory in her extended right hand and a long spear in her left, with a large oval shield resting against her side. The figure is rendered in detailed relief with drapery falling across her legs, conveying a majestic, martial dignity. The inscription ROMA appears in the lower exergue, while the senatorial authorization mark S C (Senatus Consultum) is divided across the field to either side of the figure. The composition is enclosed within a beaded border typical of Julio-Claudian and early Flavian bronze coinage. |
