| Obverse description | Laureate head of Galba facing right, with short beard, rendered in high relief characteristic of the Julio-Claudian and early Flavian tradition. The portrait captures the aged, jowled features of the emperor with considerable naturalism. The surrounding legend runs clockwise along the rim of the flan. The flan shows the slightly irregular shape typical of hand-struck Roman bronze coinage of this period. |
