Obverse description Bare-headed, laureate bust of Emperor Galba facing right, depicted with a strongly individualized, aged physiognomy consistent with known portraiture of this emperor. The bust is draped and cuirassed, rendered in a bold, high-relief style characteristic of Julio-Claudian and early Flavian Roman imperial coinage. The circular legend surrounds the portrait, beginning at the lower left and running clockwise around the field. The style reflects the Rome Mint's production during Galba's brief reign of AD 68–69.
