Obverse description Bare head of Emperor Galba facing left, rendered with characteristic aged, heavy-jowled features consistent with his known portraiture. The effigy is depicted with a short neck and without diadem or laurel wreath, conveying a stern, austere military character. The circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading SER GALBA IMP CAESAR AVG TR P, distributed along the outer rim of the flan. The die work is bold and deeply struck, typical of the early Neronian-to-Flavian transitional period of Roman Imperial coinage. The field is plain, with the portrait dominating the face of the coin.
