| Reverse description | The personification of Pax (Peace) stands facing left in full figure, draped in a long stola, rendered in fine relief against a smooth field. In her extended right hand she holds an olive branch, symbol of peace and concord, while her left arm cradles a cornucopia, emblematic of prosperity and abundance. The large senatorial authority marks S and C (Senatus Consultum) flank the figure on either side at mid-field. The surrounding legend PAX AVGVST is distributed in the upper portion of the coin, all enclosed within a beaded border. The composition is characteristic of Flavian reverse iconography, combining political messaging with elegant classical figural design. |
