Reverse description Fortuna personified, draped, seated left upon a throne, holding a rudder set upon a globe in her extended right hand and a cornucopiae in her left hand; beneath the seat, a wheel — an attribute symbolising the turning of fate. The reverse legend FORT REDVCI COS II is distributed in the field, with the senatorial authority mark S C (Senatus Consultum) prominently placed in the lower field to either side of the design, as was conventional for large bronze denominations of the Roman imperial series.
