Obverse description Bare-headed, laureate bust of Emperor Claudius facing right, with a naturalistic portrait rendered in bold relief characteristic of early Imperial Roman coinage. The emperor's features are individualized, displaying a strong jaw, slightly fleshy neck, and close-cropped hair with a wreath of laurel. The bust is draped at the shoulder.
