Obverse description Bare head of Emperor Caligula (Gaius Caesar Augustus Germanicus) facing left, rendered in the portrait style typical of early Roman provincial coinage from Hispania. The effigy displays the characteristic features attributed to Caligula, with a strong jawline and close-cropped hair. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait reading G CAESAR AVG GERMANICVS IMP, distributed around the full periphery of the flan. The die work is bold and competent, consistent with the output of the Caesaraugusta mint under the Julio-Claudian emperors.
