Obverse description Bare head of Augustus facing right, rendered in the idealized Hellenistic portrait style characteristic of early Augustan coinage. The emperor's features are finely modeled, with a smooth, youthful countenance and closely cropped hair swept forward over the brow. The legend IMP CAESAR runs in the field to the left of the portrait, partially visible along the left periphery. The overall presentation emphasizes the emperor's authority through classical portraiture rather than overt regalia. The flan is slightly irregular, as is typical of hammered bronze issues of this period.
