Reverse description The heraldic Este eagle displayed with wings spread and head turned sinister, uncrowned, occupying the full field of the reverse. The eagle is rendered in a bold, somewhat rustic hammered style with feather detailing visible on the wings. The design is characteristic of the Este dynastic emblem as used on the minor billon coinage of the Duchy of Ferrara throughout the sixteenth century. No legend is present on the reverse.
