| Obverse description | Central field depicts the letter G surmounted by a small cross or mark, accompanied by the letter E to the right, forming the civic abbreviation for Gerona (Girona). The design is set within a plain inner circle, itself enclosed by a raised outer border. The letters are rendered in a Gothic style typical of late medieval Catalan billon coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, consistent with hammered manufacture of the period. |
