Additional information

The señal was a fractional emergency issue produced by the Principality of Catalonia during the reign of Ferdinand II, whose attention was perpetually divided between Aragonese politics, the Italian campaigns, and the newly unified Castilian crown. Local copper coinage of this type filled a persistent gap in small-denomination circulation that royal mints consistently neglected. The Agramunt issues are distinguished from other señals by their municipal origin — Agramunt, a small town in the Urgell comarca, held minting rights that most Catalan localities never obtained.

Cru#1334 is among the more elusive municipal attributions in the series.
