Obverse description Bare head of Artemis (Diana) facing right, rendered in a compact archaic style characteristic of south Italian bronze coinage. The facial features are summarily rendered, with hair drawn back from the forehead. The die work is typical of the Lucerian mint's output during the Second Punic War period, exhibiting a provincial but recognizable treatment of the deity's portrait.
