| Additional information |
Turiaso, modern Tarazona in Aragon, was one of the few Hispanian municipia still striking bronze fractions well into Tiberius's reign, at a time when most western mints had wound down local production. The aediles named on this piece — Mario Vege and Lici Cres — represent the magistrate-attribution system standard to Augustan-period Hispanic coinage, where local officials essentially signed off on each issue, a practice that makes die-linking across magistrate pairs a productive avenue for study of the mint's output sequence.
