| Obverse description | A palm tree rendered in low relief occupies the central field, its fronds spreading upward in a stylized manner characteristic of Ibero-Roman provincial coinage. The legend ALBINVS HEL POLLIO II QV is distributed around the periphery, naming the duoviri quinquennales responsible for the issue. The irregular flan and worn surfaces are consistent with hammered bronze coinage of the late Republican period. The overall style reflects the hybrid Punico-Roman artistic tradition of Carthago Nova. |
