Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Domitian facing right, rendered in low relief with finely detailed wreath of laurel leaves and long hair falling to the neck. The portrait presents the emperor with characteristic Flavian physiognomy. The encircling legend IMP DOMIT AVG GERM COS XV runs along the periphery in Latin capitals, identifying the emperor by his titles and his fifteenth consulship. The flan is irregular and slightly broader on the left, typical of hand-struck Flavian bronze coinage.
