| Obverse description | Bare laureate head of Nero facing right, rendered in the idealised portrait style characteristic of early Neronian coinage. The emperor's features are boldly modelled, with the laurel wreath encircling the head clearly delineated. The circular legend surrounds the effigy, running along the coin's periphery. The flan is slightly irregular, as is typical of hammered bronze issues of the period. |
