Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of the Bostra mint. The portrait exhibits a naturalistic treatment of the emperor's curly hair beneath the laurel wreath, with drapery visible at the shoulder. A circular Greek legend surrounds the bust, reading ΑΥΤΟΚΡΑΤ ΚΑΙCΑΡ ΤΡΑΙΑΝΟC ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟC CΕΒΑCΤΟC, identifying the emperor as Imperator Caesar Trajan Hadrian Augustus. The flan is irregular in shape, as characteristic of early Trajanic-Hadrianic provincial coinage from Arabia Petraea.
