Obverse description Radiate bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, draped at the shoulder, rendered in the prevailing Antonine style with characteristic short beard and curled hair. The radiate crown, comprising seven visible rays, identifies the denomination as a semis within the Roman bronze coinage system. The imperial effigy is portrayed with considerable sculptural depth, the bust truncated at the chest. The circumferential Latin legend reads HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS, distributed around the periphery of the field within a beaded border.
