| Obverse description | Laureate head of Augustus facing right, rendered in a style typical of Hispanian provincial coinage, with fine hair detail beneath the laurel wreath. The portrait is set within a beaded border, occupying the central field. The encircling legend reads AVGVSTVS DIVI F PATER PATRIAE, identifying the emperor as son of the deified Julius Caesar and Father of the Fatherland, a title granted in 2 BC. The flan is irregular and somewhat clipped at one edge, consistent with the hand-struck character of the issue. |

| Reverse description | A winged thunderbolt displayed vertically in the centre of the field, with volutes at each side and a pointed base, serving as the civic emblem of Bilbilis. The device is flanked by the abbreviated magistrates' formula II VIR, indicating the duoviri responsible for the issue. The surrounding legend, separated by a beaded border, reads MVN AVGVSTA BILBILIS L COR CALI L SEMP RVTI, naming the municipium and the two magistrates Lucius Cornelius Calidus and Lucius Sempronius Rutilus. The overall composition is boldly struck and well centred despite the irregular flan. |
