| Obverse description | A bull standing to the right occupies the central field, rendered in relief in the provincial style typical of Hispanian civic bronzes. The animal is depicted with sturdy musculature and slightly raised head. The Latin legend TAR appears above the bull, identifying the issuing city of Tarraco. The flan is irregular and somewhat crude, consistent with local municipal production of the Augustan period. |
