| Obverse description | Laureate head of Saturn facing right, rendered with aged, bearded features characteristic of the deity's archaic iconography. The hair falls in thick, roughly modeled locks behind the neck, with the laurel wreath clearly articulated across the brow. The value mark S (semis) appears in the left field behind the head. The die work reflects the anonymous series style of the late Roman Republican bronze coinage, with no encircling legend, the type being wholly anepigraphic. |
