| Obverse description | Facade of the Jerusalem Temple depicted in high relief at centre, with a star above the portico; the showbread table (or tabula ansata) is visible within the entrance of the Temple. Hebrew inscription reading 'Shimon' (Simon) is distributed across the field in two lines, one on each side of the Temple facade. The design is rendered in the characteristic flat, stylised engraving style of Bar Kokhba coinage, struck over an earlier host coin. |

| Obverse lettering | שמעון (Translation: Simon) |
| Reverse description | A lulav (palm branch bound with myrtle and willow) depicted upright at centre, with an etrog (citron) to the left, rendered in bold relief typical of Bar Kokhba revolt coinage. The Hebrew inscription is arranged around the device in the field, reading 'Shin Bet Le-Herut Yisrael' (Year Two of the Freedom of Israel). The legend is distributed on both sides of the central device in ancient square Hebrew script. The reverse, like the obverse, is struck over a previously circulating silver tetradrachm, with traces of the undertype sometimes visible on the flan. |
