Obverse description Crowned quartered shield bearing the arms of Savoy, Jerusalem, Cyprus, and related territories, with a central escutcheon of Savoy plain, set within an elaborate baroque cartouche. The heraldic achievement is rendered in fine relief characteristic of Renaissance hammered coinage. The encircling legend in Latin reads from the upper left and is separated by pellet stops. The overall composition reflects the dynastic ambitions of Emanuele Filiberto as Duke of Savoy and Prince of Piedmont.
