Reverse description The reverse retains the original design of the host German 5 Pfennig coin (dated 1949), showing an oak sprig in the centre field surrounded by the circular legend, all now flattened and distorted by the pressing process. The design appears inverted as the coin was fed reverse-side up through the rolling machine.
