| Obverse description | Within a beaded inner circle, a long cross with splayed terminals divides the field into four quadrants, with the arms of Zürich — a diagonal bipartite shield per bend — displayed at the centre where the arms of the cross intersect. A rope-twist border encloses the design, with the circular Latin legend MONE : NO : T VRICENSIS distributed around the circumference. The square klippe flan extends visibly beyond the circular die, with the corners of the planchet clearly protruding, characteristic of hammered klippe coinage. |
