Reverse description A frontal bust of Saint Leodegar (Leodegarius), patron saint of Lucerne, dominates the central field, depicted wearing pontifical vestments including a mitre and cope rendered in crude but expressive hammered relief. The saint's face is shown frontally beneath the mitre, with hands clasped or folded in a devotional posture. The figure is set within a wreath of laurel branches. The encircling Latin legend SANCT LEODIGARI, separated by rosette stops, identifies the patron saint and runs around the full circumference of the coin.
