Obverse description Highly stylised, degenerate radiate bust facing left, rendered in a crude and angular manner characteristic of the Series D sceattas. The bust features a prominent triangular nose, an absent or vestigial eye, and a stepped or pyramidal neck treatment formed by linear incisions. Chevron motifs are positioned both before and behind the head, filling the field in a decorative but non-representational fashion. The design reflects the progressive abstraction of the classical imperial prototype, retaining only the ghost of a radiate crown.

Reverse description A plain, boldly rendered Greek cross occupies the centre of the flan, with a single pellet placed in each of the four angles formed by the arms of the cross. The cross arms are of equal length and relatively thick, consistent with the die-cutting conventions of Series D. Surrounding the cross is a loose arrangement of pseudo-epigraphic or degenerate letter-like symbols, imitating a legend but carrying no intelligible text, a common feature of uninscribed Anglo-Saxon sceattas of this series. The overall composition is symmetrical in intent, though the execution is characteristic of the irregular hammered coinage of the period.
