| Obverse description | Diademed bust facing right, rendered in a stylised early Anglo-Saxon manner. The effigy is encircled by a beaded border terminating in serpent-head motifs, a distinctive feature of the Series BX sceat type. A degenerate, blundered legend surrounds the bust, the inscription being non-functional and essentially decorative in character. |
