| Obverse description | Hammered silver flan bearing a multi-line Persian calligraphic legend in bold nastaliq script, arranged across the field within a plain linear border. The inscription, reading in Persian poetry, proclaims the authority of the Imam and the rightful lord of the age (Sahib al-Zaman), a characteristic Shia legitimising formula employed on Zand and early Qajar coinage. The relief is high and robust, with characteristic pellet ornaments punctuating the script, and the irregular flan edge is typical of hand-struck production of the period. |
