| Obverse description | Hammered silver flan bearing a multi-line Persian calligraphic legend in bold nasta'liq script, disposed across the central field within a plain linear border. The inscription reads a poetic verse proclaiming the sun and moon as gold and silver in the world through the coin of the Imam, the rightful Sahib al-Zaman (Lord of the Age), an invocation reflecting the Zand-era Shia formulaic tradition carried into early Qajar coinage. The relief is high and slightly irregular, characteristic of hand-struck production, with portions of the legend extending toward the flan edge. |
