| Obverse description | Struck in the characteristic Afsharid hammered style on an irregular flan, the obverse bears a two-line Persian legend in elegant Nasta'liq script arranged across the central field, reading 'Hast Sultan bar Salatin-i Jahan / Shah Shahan Nadir Sahib-Qiran,' proclaiming Nader Shah as the king of kings and lord of the auspicious conjunction. A dotted border encircles the inscriptions, following Mughal-derived coin design conventions adopted at the Shahjahanabad mint. |
