| Obverse description | Central field bears a multi-line Persian calligraphic legend in Arabic script reading 'hast sultan bar salatin-i jahan, shah-i shahan Nadir sahib-qiran' (He is the Sultan over the Sultans of the world, King of Kings Nadir, Lord of the Auspicious Planetary Conjunction). The inscription is arranged in a characteristic Afsharid cartouche style, rendered in a fluid naskh hand typical of mid-18th century Iranian mint production. The field is largely occupied by the bold royal titulature with no figurative imagery, consistent with Islamic numismatic convention. |
