| Reverse description | Central field filled with a multi-line Persian verse inscription in Nasta'liq script, arranged in horizontal registers across the flan, reading: 'Shod aftab o mah zar o sim dar jahan az sekke imam be-haqq saheb-zaman' (The sun and moon of gold and silver in the world came from the coinage of the rightful Imam, the Lord of the Age). The poetic legend is a standard Zand-dynasty reverse type referencing the legitimate authority of the ruler. The script is bold and flowing, filling the field to the margins. The hammered flan shows slight irregularity at the edges, consistent with hand-struck production. |
