| Obverse description | Central field dominated by a bold Arabic legend reading 'struck in the island of Java' arranged in three lines, with the date '1804' in Western numerals below and the mint-master's initial 'Z' in the lower exergue. A decorative floral or cruciform ornament appears at the top of the field above the inscription. The entire design is contained within a toothed or reeded border, consistent with the milled coinage style of the Dutch colonial administration in Java. |
