| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing bust of Emperor Alexander I occupying the central field, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair curling at the nape of the neck, in the neoclassical portrait style characteristic of early 19th-century Russian coinage. The truncation of the bust terminates at the lower field, where the mint mark СПБ (Saint Petersburg) is inscribed in small characters. A circular Cyrillic legend runs along the periphery between the bust and the milled border, reading Б•М• АЛЕКСАНДРЪ I ИМП И САМОД•ВСЕРОСС•, denoting the Emperor's full imperial title by the grace of God. |
