Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of Emperor Nicholas II facing left, with a short beard, rendered in high relief against a smooth field. A circular Cyrillic legend runs along the upper periphery, interrupted by two six-pointed stars separating the two lines of inscription. The inner border is formed by a finely executed ring of beads, while the outer rim bears a milled edge pattern. The portrait is engraved in a dignified, naturalistic style characteristic of late Imperial Russian coinage.
