Reverse description Central device features the Imperial Russian double-headed eagle displayed, with both heads crowned and surmounted by a larger central imperial crown above, the whole rendered in bold relief. The eagle's wings are spread wide, with finely engraved feather detail; the right talon clutches a sceptre and the left an orb. The mint mark СПБ (St. Petersburg) appears below the eagle's tail feathers. The date 1727 is inscribed to the left of the eagle in the field. The surrounding Cyrillic legend МОНЕТА * НОВАЯ * ЦЕНА * РУБЛЬ ∙ 1727 СПБ, meaning 'New Coin, Price One Rouble,' encircles the design.
