| Obverse description | Draped bust of Empress Catherine I facing left, depicted in mourning attire with a fur-trimmed mantle, her hair elaborately dressed and adorned with a pearl strand. The effigy fills the central field in high relief, rendered in the Baroque style characteristic of early Russian Imperial coinage. A Cyrillic legend encircles the portrait along the entire periphery, separated from the milled border by a fine inner circle. |
