| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a bold nasta'liq Arabic legend reading 'al-Sultan Nadir' enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The inscription is rendered in high relief against a flat, unadorned field, characteristic of Afsharid hammered coinage. The surrounding area between the beaded circle and the coin's rim is plain, giving the central legend visual prominence.
