Obverse description Quadriga driven at speed to the right, the charioteer holding the reins; above, Nike flying left crowns the horses. In the lower field, a cock standing left flanked by a bunch of grapes to the left and a crab to the right, with a grain ear in the exergue. The composition closely replicates the celebrated tetradrachm type of Himera struck circa 483–472 BC, combining the pan-Sicilian quadriga motif with local civic symbols emblematic of the city.
