| Reverse description | Standing figure of Salus, draped, depicted in three-quarter view facing right, extending a patera in her right hand from which she feeds a serpent coiled around her left arm. The goddess embodies the concept of health and well-being, a common reverse type on coins of Volusian. The composition follows the standard iconographic formula for Salus as established in the Severan and post-Severan periods. A beaded border surrounds the design, with the reverse legend SALVS AVGG arcing across the upper field, referring to the health of the two Augusti (Trebonianus Gallus and Volusian). |
