The original Y-145 Kiangnan dollar series is distinguished by its mintmark combinations — the 1904 issues bear both the cyclical date characters and a variety of dot and stroke arrangements that have made die attribution a minor specialty unto itself. This piece is a replica struck in silver-plated base metal, carrying none of that numismatic standing.
