| Obverse description | Central field displays two crossed ceremonial staffs or batons tied at the centre, rendered in relief against a stippled inner circle bordered by a beaded ring. The legend 大满洲國 (Great Manchukuo) appears at the upper portion of the field, with the regnal date 康德五年 (5th year of Kangde, corresponding to 1938) below. The entire design is enclosed within a continuous decorative outer border composed of traditional Chinese key-fret (meander) motif, lending a distinctly formal imperial character to the composition. |
