The shield displays the multiple quarterings of the Hessian landgraviate. The mint master initials F-U appear below the shield on either side. The denomination 1/3 appears in the exergue alongside the date and the word IUSTIRT, indicating the coin's fineness certification. The Latin legend continues along the upper rim. |
