Obverse description The obverse features a central device depicting a group of North-West Mounted Police officers standing in formation before a row of tents, rendered in relief. The curved legend along the upper rim reads '1882 - N.W.M.P. HEADQUARTERS ESTABLISHED IN REGINA', and an explanatory inscription in the lower field describes the relocation of the N.W.M.P. headquarters from Fort Walsh to Regina on December 6th, 1882. A dotted border surrounds the design, with a mint mark at the base.
