Obverse description Central device depicts a bison (plains bison) standing in profile to the left in high relief, resting on a ground line. Reverse description Central device features the armorial shield of the City of Winnipeg, displaying a castle turret in chief over a field of stars above a pale with a rose device, flanked by scrollwork supporters. A ribbon above bears the legend CITY OF WINNIPEG, and the motto UNUM CUM VIRTUTE MULTORUM appears on a scroll across the shield. The date 19 82 flanks the shield at mid-field, with WINNIPEG CANADA in the upper legend and RED RIVER DOLLAR in the lower legend, separated by a dotted border. The notice NOT VALID AFTER SEPT. 1, 1982 appears in small lettering beneath the shield.
