Reverse description Reverse bears a four-line Latin scriptural inscription contained within a rectilinear cartouche with an ornate scrollwork frame above and below, referencing Exodus 15:2: DEVS FORTIT / TVDO MEA / E LAVS MEA / DOMINVS. The cartouche is flanked by decorative foliate and volute ornaments, and small roundels or pellets appear in the outer field at the sides. The overall design is characteristic of Renaissance-era reckoning counters produced for the Bohemian nobility.
